Join us as we celebrate our Nation's 250th Anniversary of Independence by making this stunning 66" X 76" throw size single block quilt. This pattern can be found in Annie's Quilting book Americana Quilts and was designed by Sue Pfau. The use of the cream or tea dye colored background fabric color lends to the antique Americana appeal of this throw. Materials needed are: 1.5 yds asst. red fabrics, 1.25 yds asst. blue fabrics, 5 1/8 yds dk cream fabric, 0.75 yds dark blue/navy fabric. Optional 4 3/4 yds of 44/45" wide backing fabric or 2 5/8 yds 108" wide backing fabric. You will need your sewing machine and other implements of mass construction to include thread, snips, scissors, rotary cutters, mats. travel irons, wool pads, rulers, pins, clips, and whatever else you like to use. You will also need to purchase the Annie's pattern book which is available in QBQ shop in limited quantities.

Whether you’re a confident beginner or simply eager to stretch your creative wings, this class is designed to help you grow, stitch by stitch. Each month, you’ll receive clear, step-by-step instructions for that month’s block — plus an in-person class session where you can: see pre-made block samples up close, get help navigating tricky techniques, build confidence with gentle coaching, and finally, connect with fellow quilters who love color, creativity, and a good challenge. No matter your current skill level, you’ll be supported, encouraged, and celebrated. By the end of the year, you’ll not only have a stunning quilt, you’ll have a whole new set of skills and a community cheering you on Come for the blocks. Stay for the fun, the friendships, and the joy of creating something bold and beautiful. Come join the gang at QBQ every 2nd Saturday of each month. Choose your own color pallet- dark/light solids or like Tula Pink, with all bright colored fabrics just be sure to go to YouTube and check out her version! It's a must see prior to purchasing or selecting your own stash fabrics. You will need to purchase the book to get the materials list as it has requirements for many different fabric colors/shades in differing quantities. QBQ has limited quantities of the books available in the shop. Other required tools include a 10.5" squaring ruler, a 6 x 24 " ruler, a light colored fabric marking pen/pencil /device or chalk , light and dark colored threads to match fabrics, dry iron, and Best Press spray starch.

Hi! Welcome to our Baby Bees Summer Sewing Camp, where beginner stitchers will spend five full days learning the art of both hand and machine sewing. We’ll create 11 fun projects throughout the week, each one building on the skills learned from Day 1. Beginning Basics- 6 part class This is a six class series of an introductory sewing/quilting class. We will be utilizing the book First-Time Quiltmaking: Learning to Quilt in 6 Easy Lessons, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded Landauer Publishing- You may purchase it from QBQ Shop or order online. and you will need it for the first class. Join us for a combination 12 (or 13) month long Block of the Month and Book Club project featuring the pattern Rose In Bloom by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique and the newly released Lyda Rose fabric line by Bunny Hill both by Moda. Since the pattern was named based on the writer's mom's love of Louisa Mae Alcott's books, we will begin the project by reading Rose in Bloom to discuss at each month's group meeting. Kits are purchased through QBQ shop and include the pattern book (but not the reading material by Ms. Alcott). This pattern is Beginner friendly and all skill levels are invited to participate.

A time to get together with your community of quilters and work on snags and or open projects! This course is offered on select days and times each month to provide you the opportunity to work on UFO's or other projects, spend time with friends, and share what you are working on. QBQ staff will be available but not hovering during each session to assist with any questions you have on your project.
